1) No, except count your money.
2) Yes they charge you on both sides. Yet another reason to use a discount broker. (Also, if you exercise the options you will get charged the same amount as if you had bought the stock in the market.)

Hi,
yes you can sell the option for that profit(loss) anytime before expiration. You can also exersize the option and buy or put the stock anytime before expiration date. Of course that rarely happens.

Each transaction requires a commission, same as stocks.
