Don - As you and others have pointed out, the Japanese are an exceptionally cooperative and governable populace. I suspect that the limits of their constraint may yet be put to the test. The Japanese govt appears to be increasingly concerned about taking steps to maintain the confidence of depositors. With Japans economy actually contracting right now, I think they rightfully consider this a dangerous predicament. The unwinding of the Japanese bubble has been a long, slow burning fuse. It will be interesting to see if they can continue to manage the implosion. Tom
