Steve, re 401k dollars....My wife and I have been putting in 14% of our income in 403b/401k....your advice to Ken is right on but he needs to anti up $300 per month to get 1 million in 30 yrs (assuming hi growth which is generally 12%/yr, which does NOT include employer matching) And $300/month is easily doable even for a couple of working class stiffs like ourselves...Pre-tax dollars and tax deferral are a Godsend. Only problem for us is we get matched dollare for dollar only up to 5% (Any job openings at CPQ????) Mike
