Goldsnow: Rubin undoubtedly prefers a strong dollar, but not at any cost. Seems to me we have now reached the point where the costs of continued dollar strength -- an escalating global deflationary spiral -- far outweigh the benefits

BTW, all of this is potentially very bullish for gold. A wise investor I used to know said a few years ago that the next secular gold bull would not begin until deflation replaced inflation as the prime concern of economic policy makers. Need I say more?
