HEI to Produce Chips Over New Year Break

12/31 15:25

Hyundai Electronics Industries said yesterday that it will continue the production of 64M DRAM (megabit dynamic random access memory)
chips through the New Year holidays.

Company officials said the supply of the 64M chips is expected to be short in the beginning of next year and the extra production is needed to meet the demand.

Aside from HEI, Samsung Electronics and LG Semicon are reportedly
planning to sustain their production of the high capacity chips for most of the New Year holidays to boost supplies.
