According to the law review's webpage, "Some of these discretionary slots may be used to implement the Review's affirmative action policy." [13] The president of the Harvard Law Review is elected by the other editors. [14] [17]

I said Obama was an affirmative action appointment and so did the NY Times at the time

Obama was an affirmative action law review president and he never published anything himself - it's like he was never there. Like his legacy, it will be wiped from history by the winners.
