They have been programmed to accept fake news without question. Why do you think virtually all of the fake news was pro-Trump? Because it generated clicks. The Trump supporters are used to accepting lies as the truth. So they were a market. The rest of us, not so much. We'd rather have the truth than deal with made up bullshit. And the idea that Obama needs a teleprompter to give a coherent speech is one of those "conventional wisdom" things that the wingnuts have made up and firmly believe. Despite the mountains of evidence that it isn't true. Granted, there have been a few times when he sort of stumbled, but everyone does that at one time or another. In normal human beings, that happens when they are trying to formulate an answer on the fly. Now Trump rarely does that. Instead, he just makes it up as he confidently goes along.
