Race base identity politics? Come again..I live in red SW VA with the klan nearby. 2 yrs is a longtime. IMHO: Trump will cut deals with Schummer, a fellow NYer. He's a dem at heart. Meantime, the west coast states plus Colorado to name a few have completely transferred to the new economy due to having progressive policies and forward looking state gov't. While rust belt and the south cut spending(impacting human capital) to fund tax cuts for the well off. No wonder the white working class has gone no where. Innovation is at full speed in forward looking states. Will get worse for the working class when fully self driving trucks well lessen the need for human truckers. Nothing you can do about it. Oh BTW: all my charitable contributions have been directed to animal rescue exclusively. No more donations to the food bank. Efforts to help the poor in red communities are waste of money and time. The sad part is that the wealthier communities are blue enclaves.

2018 is just around the corner - Reeling Democrats confront brutal 2018 Senate map A filibuster-proof majority isn't out of the question if things break right for the GOP. hypothetical.....Rs wind up with 62 seats in 2018......it is just as unlikely that with idiot Rs like Collins, Alexander, Murkowski, Graham, etc. etc. that Rs can field 60 votes to stop a filibuster as it is now that they can field 50 votes with 52 sets to pass a bill after junking the filibuster rule. SO ....junk it NOW at the first filibuster and get on with the program. The Ds were going to do it had they won....they said as much. This is WAR!
