Josh, the posts linked to are from February - so there could have been changes in MWB since then. I have the life time MWB Home Premium license and ran a scan this morning without problems. My Win10 is up-to-date.

FWIW, I ran Malwarebytes on my laptop this morning without incident. It found 385 PUPs that I got rid of, then I rebooted and all seems well.

As I reported here last week, I wasn't able to get Windows Defender to run on this desktop. Someone here suggested Spybot may be the problem so I deleted it and rebooted. Sure enough, Defender started along with the OS. I'll just download Spybot whenever I feel a need to run it, which isn't often. I like Defender to be full time.

Thanks to all who make this board the great part of SI that it has always been.

Josh,

Thanks, I don't use BitDefender but I'll try shutting down Panda AV before my next attempt to do a scan.

Ian.

I just purchased a M.2 SSD from Newegg that was on Black Friday sale for $129. It is a 512GB Intel.600p It shows peak Reads of 1855 Mbps and Writes of 567 Mbps, which is above the listed specs. Now, I am waiting for a copy of Windows 10 Pro from Newegg, since you can't get free copies any more. It will be nice to have a copy that isn't updated every week. Getting the "free" Windows 10 was OK for a while, but the weekly updates of the OS get annoying.
