Rod, Can you spell DESPERATE? The word pretty much characterizes the tone of your spewing over the last few days. Oh, and before I forget, dishonesty should be thrown into the mix too! Not that I care that your stupid enough to think that you could benefit your short position by coming here with your weak crap and cause longs to give up their shares. We have had much better than you try that, oh challenged one. You are annoying. You say little and add less. Find something better to do with your time between exploring your genius. Maybe you, rockhead and love doll can do that French thang...menage each other.

I would. But I'd be sure to rewrite it once every few years.

I just got through watching my 7 year old laserdisk copy of The Wrath of Khan. Curiously enough, this medium-to-last-30-years now has a defect which causes a skip in it. The defect did not exist a few years ago when I last played it. If it was rewritable media, I could have copied it over and back every few years, refreshing it before the defect developed. And that happened with a disk recorded with professional equipment. I wonder how long consumer grade CD-R and CD-RW, not to mention DVD disks will really last before they deteriorate unacceptably. 30 years? We'll see.

Oh well, just goes to show how even the best of technology can let you down.

>>The point is not that you can append files; the point is that that 640 megabytes acts precisely like a read/write media until such times as you have exhausted the entire disk. That's an important concept considering you can buy them for less that $2 per disk, don't you think?<<

Rod -

Really.

If I write a file to a CD-R disk, then decide to replace it with an updated version of the file, I can't, unless I either put it into a new directory, or change the name of the file.

That's not "exactly like a (sic) read/write media," is it?
