You can't transfer securities out of a retirement vehicle into a non-retirement vehicle. You have to sell them. That's my understanding.

You can execute a transfer sale between acoounts such as this. I have done it before. It all depends on the flexibility of the laawyers at the firm you are using. I have has one firm agree to do it and another regret.
