It sounds like you are projecting. There are people of conscience who can resist pursuing money to pursue a righteous life. My entire clan is like that. My son-in-law for example is highly respected in the scientific community and is responsible for several major discoveries. He presently works as a research scientist and physics professor, but if he went into the corporate world and did chemistry for them, he could make several times what he makes now. But he is simply not willing to sell his soul for the extra money. They are very happy living a modest middle-class life as is the rest of my clan. Those are the values we teach our children. Honor and ethics comes before money. And my daughter is a lawyer who only works part-time from home because she wants to spend most of her time raising her two children. She also could make several times what she makes if she went out into full-time law, but both she and her husband have made a conscious decision to be satisfied with a modest life. <<When the vast majority of atmospheric chemistry professors around the world, and the vast majority of the top universities in the world, all teach AGW as real, a wise person would take heed A truly wise person in that case would hold his breath, start up his brain - assuming he has one - and wisely conclude: "Follow the money!"

Those who really understand they can not do most often choose the safe path of the ivory tower and publish what will find the most money. They bask in he fellowship of like minded we are so smart and above crash greed. Such is their self satisfied wisdom. Ethical and moral cowardice by objective standard of true American meritocracy.
