Ancient Athens was the first major country to discuss and employee democracy. They were the first major country to talk about ethics in relation to the social contract. They voted to decide whether to fight the Persians or not. A white stone Meant person wanted to surrender and a Black stone meant they wanted to fight. They put them in bowls.

And the ancient Greeks figured all his stuff out shortly after they invented the modern alphabet, started printing books and educated the people of Athens to read and write. From there they started discussing philosophical ideas and out of that came concepts of ethics and democracy.

Rome had variations of republics. They had a Senate. But I don't think it was actually Republican inn the sense that all the people didn't elect the Senators.

Then we had the Magna Carta and in the U.S. Constitution. Democracy is a philosophical idea that comes out of intellectual development.

<,

You gotta be kidding. In Athens at 500BC democratic reforms were undertaken predominantly to deal with moral issues. The world has be n around a long time. Things that ar new to you lots of time are not. If you bothered to read history.
