Being highly educated is not necessarily going to prevent a Kelly Ann Conway if they are also a sociopath. That's what I think Kelly Ann Conway is. A classic sociopath.

But being educated is essential to living successfully in the modern world., because what I think even the academic community is only kind of coming to realize is that the human species needs to learn and practice thinking in order to get their logic and perception of reality to work well. And it takes a long time to get good at it. It gets back to knowledge directed perception. You can't see what you don't understand. Learning logic, for example takes a long time.

We are born as a small animal like a fox or a wolf.. The difference being that we're able to learn more than they are. The mind we have works fine if we are a nomadic animal on the plains of Africa. But in order to deal with the complications of modern technology and social structure for 7 billion people requires a completely new kind of brain that has to be developed by every individual.

Education is imperative for self-actualization and a well-functioning social system. You post on right wing threads all the time, what do you see? The conservatives are not very logical in their posts. Nor do they have their facts correct most of the time. And they don't seem to understand reality very well. They're much more often victims of fake news than the liberals are. In my opinion that is primarily due to simple lack of education.

As you know, the spread between Hillary and Trump among uneducated white folks was around 45%. I watch a lot of foreign films. When I watch films made in Mexico, Central America or South America it is clear to see the pervasive poverty and illiteracy. And virtually all those countries struggle with poorly functioning social systems and all sorts of crime and dictatorships.

But when you watch films made in the Nordic countries, Iceland, South Korea, Taiwan or Japan and most of Europe you don't see that kind of pervasive illiteracy and abject poverty, or corruption. The difference is the above countries are highly educated and understand how to put together sophisticated social systems. Their interactions intellectually are also much more sophisticated. Much less religion as well. They have replaced religion with facts and logic. Their humor is even more sophisticated.

Education is the key to civilization and well-functioning modern humanitarian social systems. The evidence for that is very clear in my opinion.
