Trump tweeted stupidly today about Boeing because the CEO spoke up for free trade:

Critical comments by Boeing CEO published RIGHT BEFORE Trump tweeted…
Dec. 6, 2016 1:41 pm by SooperMexican

El Trumpo has seized the spotlight by the throat yet again today with his controversial tweet about Boeing, but some are thinking that there was an article that pushed him to do it.

Here’s what might have angered el Trumpo:

Muilenburg suggests the Trump team, and Congress, back off from the 2016 anti-trade rhetoric and perceived threats to punish other countries with higher tariffs or fees.

Instead, he suggests they get down to the business of advocating a stronger U.S. agenda during ongoing or upcoming trade negotiations with other countries.

“If we do not lead when it comes to writing these rules, our competitors will write them for us,” he said.

This isn’t terribly critical, but Trump is notoriously thin-skinned and it’s not unlikely that he took them as criticisms.

The CEO also said that tariffs would hurt his company if Trump succeeded in implementing them:

…in remarks before the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association last week, Muilenburg conceded there’s more populist concern about international pacts than before the 2016 election campaign.

“I’m not a political pundit or prognosticator — we have too many of those — but anyone who paid attention to the recent campaigns and the election results realizes that one of the overarching themes was apprehension about free and fair trade,” he said.

Muilenburg argues that international trade is essential to the U.S. economy and its importance is reflected in the “large and growing percentage of our business” coming from international sales, including commercial jet orders from China.

“Last year, we delivered 495 737s from our factory in Renton, Wash., to customers around the world. One in every 3 of those 737s were bound for China
. And about a quarter of all our airplane deliveries … were bound for Chinese customers. This phenomenon would have been unimaginable when I started at the company in 1985,” said Muilenburg, who began his Boeing career as an aerospace engineer.

There are more foreign automobile manufacturers building cars in America than there are American car companies PERIOD!

All hire American workers, and even designers!

Toyota, which had it's U S headquarters in California for decades, is moving everything to Plano, Texas...just north of Dallas.

Toyota builds cars and trucks in San Antonio. In fact, they build cars for EXPORT BACK TO JAPAN!

America is Toyota's largest market.

General Motors is in the same situation with Buick. The Chinese all but worship Buick! It is one of the best selling car brands in the country! China buys 10 Buicks for every one sold in the USA!

China is the reason Buick still exists, and a major reason GM still does too!

GM obviously builds Buicks in China, in one of the most modern factories on earth! Some of the best build quality ever. Some Chinese built Buicks are exported to America, the way Toyota exports AMERICAN BUILT cars back to Japan!

Oh, and thanks to Buick, Cadillac is, not only making a comeback here, but massive inroads in China. The new XT5 is built in China!

GM is also partners in two Chinese heavy truck builders (18 wheelers) China has over a billion people. So does India, America should be in there dominating those markets, even if our companies have to set up manufacturing there.

Sales in THOSE countries, and many others, provide the profitabiliy to build cars WE want like Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Charger, and Challenger!

Trump's lunacy might make foreign countries rethink their policies and see Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, VW, Hyundai, Kia, Suburu, Volvo, BMW, and others leave!

And people forget, it's not just jobs at the assemby plants, in design, engineering, and management that will be lost.

ALL manufacturers use outside vendors for a variety of things. From hard assemblies like transmissions and steering assemblies, to electronics, to seating! Some more than others.

But it's not just vendors! It's all the supporting players. Restaurants, cleaners, apartments, home builders, and everyone else!

Trump is playing with fire and could very easily destroy our entire economy and our entire way of life!

They confuse, and I mean completely confuse, isolationism/protectionism with border security and illegal immigration control, and then they confuse all of that with elitist globalists/banksters with an economic free trade and free market.

On some level I can almost understand because all they're doing is finally lifting their heads from the herd and smelling danger, but they have no freaking idea what it is and they end up being nothing more than a herd of stampeding, frightened, stupid human cattle and see populism and say, That. That's where we go. Right over the cliff.

Even though President Hoover did not desire it, his reluctant support of the disasterous 1930 Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act made the 1929 stock market crash much worse with its high tariff policies, which led to national trade wars. Unfortunately, lack of historical discernment can cause history to repeat itself.

He has ZERO clue how much the secure commo systems cost, much less the protective components of AF1.

He bought an old plane in a fire sale and probably stiffed the contractors for the upgrades. He had no clue what goes into AF1.

I think it's more likely that Trump saw a meme that some 16 year old tweeted about the high cost of AF1 and Trump just "went with it"...

............

The $4 Billion price tag appears to be the total program cost over 30
years
. Currently, the USAF is budgeting some $1.6 Billion over the next
4 years for initial design mods and manufacture of two 787-8s. The
remaining $2.4 Billion or so over 30 years works out to $80 Million per
year for gas, crew and support ops which seems about right for two
unique aircraft.

This pretty much explains the amount. Trump tweets what he wants so maybe Boeing will bow done to him? He might be the king of drama...

The problem with Trump is, he is a (thin-skinned) narcissist who never really thought he would be President, who seems to be incapable to grow the thick hide needed for this job! Please, Tweet Mr. Trump and inform him of this, (you work for WE The People now!) So please Mr. Trump, quit embarrassing America and get over yourself! Start acting like your age instead of your damned shoe size!!!!

It's just like a know-it-all blowhard to complain about something he knows nothing about.

I guess this is how tRump strongarmed subs and other people who worked on his properties.

Just the kind of POTUS we need...NOT!

Just some thoughts.

Several places online suggest the "list" price for a new 747-8 is in the $350 Million range. Then add in the need for frame modifications, additional power generation, etc and we can see a customized pair of 747-8s would go for something higher. Then add in a large secure communications systems, radar warning systems, defensive systems, and much more along with specialized support for 30 years and you'll see a program that runs over a billion dollars. Yes, it's a lot of money. But, there are some unique requirements there.

So, the Boeing CEO was a poopyhead meany pants and dared to make a mild criticism of His magnificence, which triggers a Trump tweet tantrum?

What a leader! Cant wait till he's inaugurated and has the power of the Oval Office behind him. Foreign relations are gonna be a hoot.

I'm thinking we are going to need one article to establish the time line. which came first. second. so on. in order to have facts. I still can't wrap my head around this nonsense, with all the real issues facing this country, Trump is once again PO'd that a company, that exports a lot of it's product is worried about his tariff plan. how dare they worry about the finical health of their company and God forbid they'd dare to make a profit too. and now that all these pieces to the puzzle are dripping out in stages, can we call his first tweet a threat? A threat to Boeing's CEO to shut up and not talk 'badly' about Trump? because now that's what it sounds totally like. a threat. another one to a private company that happens to hold government contracts.

Smoot-Hawley decimated US exports and reduced global trade by 66%.

Oh well, suddenly it's ALL CLEAR! Boeing criticized Fidel TRUMP! and hurt his ego. A Twitter battle must be waged.
