How you can look at the last hundred years and think the Democratic and Republican Party's are the same I find amazing. Starting in the 1920s when Hoover, Coolidge and Harding brought us the great depression and destroyed this country. Harding was advised to let the depression run to get rid of the deadwood. That has always been the Republican approach to society. So the people elected FDR and he immediately made work programs and put 8 million people back to work. He got Social Security which brought millions of people out of abject poverty. All through the last hundred years it has been the liberal Democrats fighting for the worker and the disenfranchised. The party of unions while the Republican party was the party of the rich. That is the reason why all of the minorities vote overwhelmingly for the Democrats. They know the liberals have always stood with them for example the 1964 civil rights bill; and who their friends are and they know who their enemies are. If the Democrats had won, we would've continued on toward universal healthcare. The liberals were very upset with Obama for not going for single-payer universal healthcare. Now that the Republicans won they are going to destroy the little bit that we do have for example Obama care, Medicare and Social Security if they can. How you can look at the eight years that George Bush was president and the eight years that Obama was president and think that they were the same completely blows my mind. Or for that matter how you can think that Hillary would've been as bad as trump completely blows my mind. << hillery, obama, dubya, slick willie, 41, reagan, carter, etc.etc. all belong to one party, we just play along
