We have a Canadian Indian that works with us. He travels back and forth whenever he wants without a passport, just needs his treaty-card and ID. I asked him if there was any way I could buy into that and he just smiled and said No! He pays taxes on off-rez work but work on-rez is tax free. He said it was a much better deal to be First Nations in Canada than the U.S. as to rights, benefits etc.
