Qdel placed a number of advertisements for add'l employees in late summer/early fall - I suspected then that it had to do w/ anticipated increased production in the 3rd quarter - I hope my suspicions are borne out w/ a good earnings report for the 3rd qtr in a few weeks. It looks like Qdel is at it again w/ advertisements in the San Diego Union Tribune for add'l workers - the 1-4-98 edition has the following ads PRODUCTION GROUP SUPERVISORS See our large ad under "Manufacturing" in today's classified pages. MANUFACTURING Chemistry Mfg, Production Supvs/Mgrs, Mfg Support, Materials, Mechanics & others. See our large ad in the "Biotechnology" section of today's Classified Pages. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to get to the "Biotechnology" section of the classifieds and I don't have any add'l info - If someone out there lives in the San Diego area and still has a copy of yesterday's (1/4-Sunday) Union Tribune, it would be very much appreciated by me (and many others I suspect) if you could search the "Biotechnology" section of the classified ads for Qdel's "Large Ad" and let all of us know what it says. It sounds like they are looking for a rather large new contingent of people - To satisfy unprecedented demand I sincerely hope!!!!! The stock looked good today on light volume. Hope 1998 brings us all good luck w/ Qdel.
