Wall Street Journal Interactive edition reports that the Chinese yuan will drop by 20%-25% if China allows the currency to fall in one step. If China allows the yuan to fall gradually the decline may eventually total 40%. The Yuan is likely to fall sharply in the 2nd half of 1998.
What kind of impact should this have on American companies' earnings growth and competition?

I noticed that the Indonesian rupiah is also rapidly devaluating.
Any comments?
