-- Earnings of $.90 & $1.62; for '98 & '99, are good enough for me. And good enought to support a $40 share price. Especially when VVUS would have close to $180 mill in cash & equiv if First Call's scenario played out. -- Also, shorts are toast. -- VVUS held above $11. Despite being hit viciously by short sellers and the most innane Barron's article. -- Over 10 mill shares shorted vs. 34 mill or so outstanding? And mngmt has a 2 million share buyback underway. So far, only 400k shares confirmed have been bought back. They'll give new numbers on 1/19/98. What's even better, is that mngmt said they can always go beyond the 2 mill share buyback. -- Where in the world are the shorts going to get the shares to cover? Out.
