The brain: the instinctual brain and the existential brain. What 99% of people do not know.

It is a given, that the brain we have, evolved over millions of years to adapt to our environment as a nomadic animal. Its primary function was to find food, defend against wild animals and find shelter.

But what happened, to make a long story short is that humans discovered they had the ability to do math and read and write. This very abstract capability, that we humans acquired for whatever reason, was surely an accident.

But what is fairly clear is that we could not have evolved the great civilizations we have, without a written language. What the written language did was allow us to access and manifest a brain in a much more efficient manner that allowed us to build great civilizations and examine the universe.

It is doubtful we could have done any of this without written language. So we didn't get any smarter in the last 15,000 years, we simply discovered a new way of using our mind. And we are still just now realizing how much the brain is capable of doing when it is fed large amounts of information.

I believe the human species, in general, is way under educated. And if you look at countries like in Central America versus the Nordic countries, or the Middle East, versus Japan, Africa versus South Korea it is easy to see why one group has so many failed societies and the other group are flourishing.

The difference of course, is the level of education in each case. What education does in a nutshell is modify the animal brain with a remodeled existential brain that works much better at adapting to the modern technological world we created quite by accident.
