Pete, I'm sure Mory is a little more conservative as Gary suggests. It was obvious when they moved some earnings forward to 1Q98 . They really want clearer visibility down the road . But I still feel Mory wants/needs to show WS, Ascend isn't the dog they have been percieved in 1997. So, .03-.05 over estimates won't hurt their 10% sequencial growth estimates for '98. I'm positive he wants to be sure and make a statement at the same time with 4Q numbers. Another point to this theory is; If LU or CPQ is having a problem antying up to ASND's price this may help get them off the fence. Jeff p.s. pete b roker isn't petty broker? god forbid; Pet Broker?
