I can't do anything about past transactions, beyond what I've already done. But going forward I'll put in the kinds of firewalls you suggest.

Colin, Peter, Joel ... my CPA is looking into trader status. One early issue he has raised is that I may have to capitalize margin interest if I elect that status. I asked him how I would do that and his initial answer was tracing. Uggh.

Colin, you didn't respond to my prior post ... does that mean you don't know the answer?

If a non canadian uses his Canadian brokerage account to exercise warrants by shorting the shares first (to get the money) are there any Canadian taxes due?
