Apparently you're missing the point.

Dmitry spent the time to collect responses to a question about adding a poll feature.

He received a spectacularly underwhelming response, with no clear majority for or against.

Yet, he went ahead and did what he was likely going to do anyway, regardless of the poll results. It was like he wanted to show us all how responsive he is to user suggestions. What a joke.

He claimed it was going to take "considerable effort" to implement a feature that was wanted by only a few. Most of us "out here" would have preferred that he spend his "considerable effort" on other "features" that would have been a positive for ALL users.

Your history of posting shows you have a deep interest in politics -- ( Politics for Pros- moderated ) -- which is where most of your posts are, by far. 13,172 on that subject alone.

Methinks you're playing politics with your comments on this topic, perhaps in order to gain favor for some other interactions elsewhere within the SI Universe.

Now, please let us know how being a "circuit designer" is relevant experience for building a User Interface for an investment forum.

I'm a (retired) software developer who played high-level management roles in multiple public companies, so my experience is likely more tuned to this topic matter than is yours. I can assure you that if any of my employees had repeatedly shown disdain for his user base like Dmitry has, he would be out on his butt.

He repeatedly ignored the input of those of us "out here" who have supported this site since its early days. And he continues to do so.

But, other than that, he's a really swell guy.

Sure is a pretty day.

Dmitry made some changes that were well received, and he was commended for making them. The point is that when he made changes such as the drop down menus and date/time stamp and received overwhelmingly negative feedback, he proved that he only listened when he heard what he wanted to hear. At first, he admitted that he needed to develop thicker skin, but he soon turned to a strategy of banning certain New Feature members in hopes of censoring discussion that was not pro "enhancements". Of course, that tactic failed miserably.

Here is a post from only a few months back on the New Feature board in which the poster is still upset by the state of the drop down menu. As you can see, it received 26 recommendations so this isn't just a case of a single member being negative for the sake of being negative. It is input that would draw the attention of an administrator who is more concerned with improving a web site than defending a position.
