I haven't seen it, thanks! I don't invest with LETRX, though - I
have some RNE at the moment. I prefer it liquid! Don't forget
that doing business in Russia can be life threatening. Could
that be the reason? Anyway, I'm looking mainly at this:
rtsnet.ru
There is also a 30-day chart at this rts site. I would be most
comfortable investing with an index fund, but there is no such thing
trading here. -Vi

MOSCOW (CBS.MW) -- Russian stock prices slid sharply Monday as global investors continued to yank money from emerging markets amid Asia's snowballing financial crisis.
Over-the-counter trading was halted in the late afternoon for 30 minutes on the Russian Trading System after its benchmark blue-chip index dropped 7.5 percent from its opening level, a circuit breaker introduced after the market's free-fall in October sent the country into an economic tailspin.

The index recouped just a bit of its losses before the end of the trading day, closing down14.35 percent to 319.02. On Friday, it closed at 349.29.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY MONEY OUT OF THIS FUND BUT IT DOES SEEM TO BE VERY DIFFICULT. AFTER SENDING THEM A LETTER TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, THEY HAVE REPLIED THEY COULD NOT DO THAT AS THIS ACCOUNT WAS JOINTLY OWNED WITH MY WIFE AND IT REQUIRED TWO SIGNATURES. THE NEXT LETTER WITH TWO SIGNATURES COULD NOT BE COMPLIED WITH AS IT DID NOT SAY VARIOUS LEGALESE SUCH AS WE ARE AWARE OF THE 2% REDEMPTION CHARGE AND PLEASE MAIL IT TO THE ADDRESS OF RECORD ( WHERE DID THEY THINK I WANTED IT MAILED?). THREE MORE REGISTERED DELIVERY LETTERS HAS DRAWN A PHONE CALL FROM SOME ONE CALLED SULLIVAN INDICATING ADDITIONAL DIFFICULTIES OF AN UNSPECIFIED NATURE. MY CALL TO THEM RESULTED IN SULLIVAN BEING TOO BUSY ( ON ANOTHER LINE ) TO TALK TO ME BUT SOMEONE CALLED GRAY SAID HE WILL CHECK. GRAY'S CHECK RESULTED IN SOMETHING LIKE THERE IS NOTHING IN MY FILES AND HE WILL CALL BACK. IF THIS IS NOT RESOLVED BY NEXT FRIDAY THIS ONE IS HEADED TO COURT. I UNDERSTAND THAT A RUSSIAN BANK HAS BOUGHT THIS FUND AND SINCE THEN THERE HAS BEEN TURMOIL WITH ALLEGATIONS OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST. THE FUND'S MOTIVATION IS UNCLEAR BUT ITS BEHAVIOUR TO DATE IS HIGHLY SUGGESTIVE. WILL KEEP THIS FORUM UPDATED BUT IN THE MEANTIME CAVEAT EMPTOR
