There was nothing to trump the record warming of 2014-15-16. We will certainly have another record breaking year in the near future.

Thanks for your response. Regardless of the rate of change, it seems that it is starting to fizzle just as it has always done in the past. If the data are valid, it's hard for me to get excited about the seriousness of "climate change."
