You don't see the connection between wages and standard of living do you? You seem unable to grasp how wages and the general standard of living are increased and are unable to examine anything contrary to your infantile premises. You, koan, several others infesting this site are a blight on humanity.

if a business can't afford to pay its employees a decent wage, then that business shouldn't exist. I know many independent 'mom n pop' businesses that struggle. Should they close down and go work at walmart? does your reasoning apply to government jobs as well? with their ponzi scheme pensions? The only reason they were able to bloat gov't jobs and benefits was because they gave police the fattest bennie packages which kept the po-lice ready to protect the corrupt gov't officials.
