You're right that we need to change the way our society functions. Our ideas are old-fashioned and not appropriate for the modern day. But Trump and the Trumpsteres are going about it in exactly the wrong way according to science. That is the difference between where Hillary and the Democrats would've taken us and Trump and Republicans are going to take us. The Democrats try to apply modern social science as taught in every university in the world to forming our society and social structure. There is a gigantic body of knowledge on what makes a society function best for most. But the Republicans don't even know that body of information exists and that the proper thing to do is apply it. The rich have been spewing propaganda (about pure capitalism's magic) that benefits them among the low information voters and they have been buying it. And they been buying it because the rich have divided us by pitting the workingman's culture against the liberal culturei.e. we are like you because we hate liberals to. But the irony is that the liberal culture has been for 100 years protecting the workingman's culture. But in a nutshell, it is not about jobs. That is simplistic and dead wrong. Everybody in the country has a certain right to the entire wealth of the country, of the tribe. Everyone in the country contributes to the success of the society. So it is not fair, in a democratic society, for a few people who get rich be able to dominate the rest of the society simply because of the power connected with that wealth. For example getting tax breaks that average people don't get. Make no mistake, Trump wants to take us back to the Gilded Age i.e. put together a plutocratic oligarchy to run the country. And he is going to go along way towards pulling that off.And the average man and woam will suffer. But what is needed, are not jobs, but a restructuring of the society, and wealth, to make sure that those people that are displaced by robots still get some of the wealth of society. That is in the best interest of the individuals and in the best interest of society. Because social science, once again, has a huge amount of research that shows that inequality erodes a society. It is much better to have necessary welfare programs and especially make sure that the people in the spring of life, the winter of life, and those who live in the shadows of life are taken care of. That is how you measure the sucess of a society! Trump will pay NO attention to that. Why can't people see that? The protection of our society and the protection of the individuals in our society is job one for a society. Not making everyone rich. which will not happen. And that is simply not achieved just by allowing capitalism to run amok Where are the plans? They need a plan. Change without a plan is chaos.
