Okay, I have numbered them one and two and I will respond to them as one and two. 1)But congress is not going to do their job. Because many of them have to do what they're campaign financers, mostly large corporations and the very rich, tell them to do. There's no way to force them to do anything otherwise. 2) When you say government, I have this feeling that you have the idea that it is some monstrous organization that exists to hurt people. Government, is nothing more than our democracy at work. We have direct control over our government. What we do not have direct control over, is our corporations and the Republican Party wants to turn everything over to the corporations and they will rape us. Anyone who thinks corporations are going to treat us better than government, that we elect, is foolish. << >>>what specifically would you do about it? <<< 1) I have already said that congress is able to enact laws to protect the environment from pollution. I would have them do their jobs. >>>Any abuse that the EPA may have engaged in was the result of our democracy. But we don't know of any better system of government than a democracy.<<< 2) By any abuse you mean the monstrously out of control efforts to enrich political constituencies unethically and subvert the issue it was designed to serve. It is a result of our government being allowed to overreach in a corrupt and insidious manner. If government was all knowing, benevolent, and all powerful we could just turn every issue over to the government and say "fix-it" and be done with it (your approach/flawed belief). Some issues are not meant to be put into the hands of government to be fixed. Government is necessary for some issues, like those that require us (as a society) to come together in order to find a solution and implement such a solution that is universally beneficial. In this case we must take care to restrict government so as to guard against overreach, ALWAYS.
