Re: Win98 as demand driver

You said:
I personally find the ability of Win 98 to display on two monitors at once exciting.

You may think so, and I may think so, but will the mass market think so? I suspect not. The monitor component is already the largest single expense in a typical PC system. I doubt most people will jump at the chance to connect two or more to their computers.

BTW, a spreadsheet in one window and a browser in another? The only reason that's even remotely useful is due to the yet primitive technology in our browsers which does not allow us to easily link web data into applications and set up dynamic exchanges. Browsers still suck, and I find myself endlessly PISSED OFF by their limitations. DO YOU HEAR ME MICROSTUPID AND NUTSCRAPE.

The other purportedly cool thing in Win98 is modem clustering support in software -- again, not a real mass-market demand stimulating kind of feature.
