I agree.

When I look around home, we have one computer that I built and four that we bought as off-lease business systems. The "used" stuff came with a "clean" Windows installed, a reasonable warranty, and a fabulous discount from their "new" price. Since getting a new computer extracts a cost in both money and effort, I'm quite happy to reduce both.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Even if purchased new, a business machine makes sense since they're usually free of most of the crapware manufacturers love to pre-install on consumer machines.

Off lease computers are a great deal and I've posted about them before.

Also, computer building doesn't have to be from scratch. <g>

I like the idea of cloning the system hard-drive to an SSD and disconnecting the hard-drive afterward.

This gives the user a super fast SSD for daily use and keeps the original hard-drive as a backup. :)

The eBay deals on off lease rack mount servers can be really good bargains. I may not buy anymore new ones.
