I don't use booze or cigarettes. I have the same policy about those, let people alone with their choices of lifestyle. I give to the shelter and to Salvation Army wrt those problems. I've thought about getting more involved but age and energy are my current excuses for not doing more.

I use coffee for the caffeine. AARP tells me it is good for older people and I experience productivity not available without the caffeine. I can do without it and sometimes go weeks without using coffee so I don't think it qualifies as addiction.

Smoking cigarettes is highly addictive and harmful

While pot is not addictive, smoking it is clearly harmful to yourself and those around you.
