You've highlighted the reason very few business people have any interest in running for President. — Although cerebral, Barack Obama is very warm and cuddly compared with senior business executives. He's truly exceptional.

If you don't like me, you'd despise Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson or Chevron CEO John Watson as President - and you'd certainly hate the technocrats who run China's government. They have a propaganda arm to communicate with the Chinese people, because this is not something they want to spend a lot of time on.

People who run large businesses are very focused and clinical. There's a lot of information to be taken in and many decisions to make. You have to prioritize their time and energy on what can actually be accomplished. Managing people and their expectations is extremely time consuming and has to be handled primarily by the employee's direct supervisor - and this time intensiveness limits the number of people they can supervise - hence all of the levels in an organization

If you have really competent business managers like Tillerson as Secretary of State and similar people in other Cabinet positions, maybe it really is useful to have a weird-assed Mr Fuzzy Empathy Liar as the President / Spokesperson to interface with voters like yourself so everyone else can get on with the business of running the place.

Trump is not a business manager. He inherited and owns businesses but other people manage them, and I'm sure a big part of their job is managing him. To the extent that Trump has chosen other clowns, such as Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy, that's just going to be a fiasco and it will be up to the civil servants to keep the place running.
