The 'Second Red Generation' and the Princelings are too busy fighting for power and grabbing the surplus generated by the China economic growth to be interested in the general scheme of things.. We should not forget that China is as much about money as is about power. They need to keep showing that they have power to yield, internally. Externally is another story. Externally China will avoid confrontation for two reasons: 1) They do not have experience 2) They do not have skilled diplomats The HK take over will be done to show power to internally that China will not tolerate dissent. Hong Kongers, the ones with money I mean, are ready for that eventuality since before the handover and have bought passports and are ready to move on. Always keep in mind that China does not adhere to the westerner view of how things work but I translate to people who does not stop to think what is real and what is facade.
