Bart I am not sure where you are getting at. You do not know for example where the north pole was, at the time farms where in Greenland. In the far past Sahara and Egypt had heavy rains for example You live now and there is a problem now and the next 50 to100 years, What if the magnetic poles have a change of heart and move drastically? Can you do anything about it? you start sounding like koan <ng>

I think it would be wise if the human race figured out how to manipulate the climate of Earth...even if the temperature swings are within normal and mainly of natural causes, they can cause much turmoil: famines, mass migrations, wars, disease, natural disasters, etc... I would find it had to argue against lowering carbon emissions if the world leaders just focused on the facts that we are in a warming cycle and that we might be able to temper that cycle by trying A, B, C (A being lowering carbon emissions). But once they start trying to declare and support a single cause, the ground gets pretty shaky and you have to wonder if he scientific process is being slanted by politics as it has so many times in the past. But I guess they feel that they need a story with a good villain to get enough momentum or more likely someone smells $$s and away we go down chasing the dream...
