When in Cuba bring salt and pepper and maybe some ketchup and Frank's. I stayed at an all-inclusive 3 star dump circa 1950 and the food was not edible. I found there were local houses that would cook fish for tourists and also offered fresh chicken. A good meal could be purchased for about $5. The poverty I saw was beyond what one would expect for this example of progressive socialism. I did find a place that sold Coca-Cola made in Mexico contrary to popular belief it does not exist. I concur Havana is a dump and the best entertainment was fights between Russian tourists.
