Roger, There is such a term in the funeral business as an independent, for we are considered independent since we are privately owned! With Service Corp. Stewart Enterprises, and Equity Corp. and a few other non-publicly owned chains buying alot of the mom and pop businesses out, the small family owned operations are just called independents! We receive calls on a monthly basis by the bigger firms wanting to buy us, but we treat our funeral home ownership as any other investment, and we hire the very best personal, and let them take care of it for us, which allows us more time to over see other investments and our trading accounts!
