I don't see how spending habits is really gonna change Trump from being the monumental asshole he is. But there are examples such as Chobani yogurt. I was already a fan, but when I read that the company was being ridiculed by wingnuts because the guy hired Syrian refugees I upped my diet of the product.

We used to be good consumers. Lots of gifts to buy for my husband's coworkers, our friends, and with the kids, stuff for their friends. We donated to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood in everyone's names this Christmas- our kids were on board with it- it's not like they lack for anything. I hope it starts a "thing"- because a couple of our friends already donated in our names- one to a neat organization I did not know about, the other to an environmental group.

And we're giving away some of the wine we cellared. We bought a bunch of reds during the crash, when wineries were going out of business or dumping inventory- now is the right time to give it as gifts, I think :-) It will take a couple of years to drink it and give it away, at the very least.
