How old are you? Have you ever been to the Mid-East? As early as 1996, al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden declared his desire to destroy the economies of the United States and other Western countries as a tactic to force them to leave the Middle East. Hey, that's 20 years ago. 12 years before Obama was elected. Why do you suppose we were there in the first place? Why do you suppose he wanted us to leave? Why do you think Trump wants the CEO of Exxon as Secretary of State? All good questions. One more: Why would you laugh your ass off when someone tries to educate you? You should be paying attention.

Lawrence Wright understands it all too well. You must not have read the book. He mentions oil somewhere around 50 times, and articulates very well how our need for it, and the distribution of the wealth we have paid for it, and the lengths we have gone to to ensure we get it, have, over decades, shaped how we are perceived in the Middle East. If you had read it, you'd know I'm right. It appears you are laughing your ass off at your own ignorance.
