But Republicans have this crazy idea that capitalism can supplant modern social science for social design e.g private jails, private schools, private social security, private health insurance, few economic and environmental regulations, etc.

I think that is what Keynes was referring to and it is a nutso idea.

I am not against capitalism... I prefer capitalism, as long as it is regulated and not allowed to run rampant with no checks and balances, which is of course always what the republicons give us. Let the crooks run wild
