With the prevalence of white privilege... just how the hell are their so many poor white folk ? Ever spend any time in the South? Both white privilege and poor whites have been institutionalized for centuries. What usually keeps poor whites poor, despite white privilege, usually boils down to education. When you don't even have a high school education, it is hard to accumulate much in the way of wealth unless you are smart and get lucky. Because of white privilege, it is even harder if you are not white. Used to be almost impossible in the South, but not totally.
