Ch I agree that there is a huge difference... but what you and elpolvo (in his defense of Ms. Clinton do not see is...) The Democratic party to a Canuck (AND Europe with different names) is like an amalgam of our right guys, middle guys and left guys.. (left being a US Sanders type) We have THREE SEPARATE parties to cover that range... Conservatives .. (actually a relatively NEW party.. spawned by a Western populist movement... Reform Then Alliance.. Then merging with the DESTROYED Progressive Conservative party to gain mainstream acceptance in the East.. ) without even getting into Greens etc... Secondly on Foreign Policy.. Dem or GOP.. the world (Including the vast majority of Canucks) sees virtually NO DIFFERENCE .... So very few folks in Canada can even conceive of a GOP party up here as anything more than funny fringe party of outsiders ... let alone one that wields actual power.. and political sway... There is such a paranoia in the US about government (and yet RELIGION PLAYS SUCH A MAJOR FACTOR... NO different than Saudi Arabia !!! Republic ? Not... ) Paranoia is so entrenched... could get to first base in the Democratic party. They were all too crazy. Lots of folks outside the US think the same of your Dems since they are so fragmented.. and disparate ... Think about that when you wonder why folks cannot understand how Progressives can boost for Ms. Clinton.. The American definition of Progressive or Liberal is just too damn vague... The Democrats themselves are JUST TOO BROAD OF A SPECTRUM... Repuglicans ,, not even conceivable... This is not about Trump.. Trump is a Backlash event.. and now I hear predictions of Impeachment... WOW.. talk about shooting your own foot.. Pence as a the Prez.. OMG... Dinosaurs at Calvary ....
