There has been lots of speculation about Putin, and therefore Russia having control over the USA. I don't know anyone right or left that would view that as a good outcome (in spite of some recent cartoons). Had Obama been able to improve relations with Russia during his tenure, I suspect the lefties on this thread would have had unending accolades for such an accomplishment.

I agree the right has been more inclined to find some positive in Putin recently. But it isn't all new, they were dissing Obama for most of his Administration regarding the appearance of weakness in his relationship to Putin.

For my part I don't understand why improved relations with Russia is bad under any administration, or why improved relations with any country on the planet would be bad. I have no love for Putin or any extremely aggressive leader but maybe you can explain for me why improving relations would be a bad thing.
