We'll never see a trade protectionist scheme introduced by America, not even while Trump is President.

In spite of what Trump wants, legislators are pro-free-trade. Everyone know a protectionist scheme would recreate the Great Depression.

Trump has merely been prattling on about how the 15% Value Added Tax (VAT - a type of sales tax) somehow gives other nations an export advantage - I don't know if Trump is actually that ignorant or whether this is yet another way he hopes to swindle his white negro supporters.

While there is no VAT imposed on goods sold in the United States, a VAT is imposed by China, Mexico, Europe, Australia, and just about everywhere else. Somehow in his deluded scheming mind he's convinced charging their own citizens a 15% VAT tax on everything they purchase somehow gives exports from thee countries "a big advantage", because this tax is rebated on exports but also applies to imported US goods when they're sold in those nations.

He's either so fucking stupid he thinks imposing a 15% national VAT in the United States would somehow help US exports, or he's so devious he thinks he can impose a new 15% tax while his white negro supporters are convinced this has something to do with saving their jobs.

A 15% VAT tax would raise more than enough money to give Medicare coverage to every many woman and child in the United States by taking away 15% of every Dollar Americans spend in America, but this new 15% tax would not hinder imports to the US or benefits exports from the US.

Watch what actually happens - everything the orange clown says is theatrics which have no connection to the real world.
