I agree with your main point. I have studied this all my life and determined the community values, starting with core family but extending also to the community they identify with determines to a very high degree the likelihood of success for children coming from that community values system. I can't help but note that the majority of Chinese people (living in China) are uneducated and poor. So what happens with those who immigrate to America? ... see above.
