Here is an example
Bill C-30 allows the Canadian government to monitor online activities of its citizens; without warrants, of course. Bill C-44 expands the surveillance powers of CSIS to NSA-levels (not just Anglophone countries would be affected), while granting anonymity protection to CSIS informants

Wrote up as something terrible. But there are times when monitoring catches Criminals. And they don't have time to get a warrant before the activity is over. Second they don't want the informants to be placed in jeopardy because they tipped off a law enforcement officer of criminal activity. Those if you understand the purpose are great laws to protect law abiding citizens. I't could cost them their life in some cases.
They can monitor Me 24/7 I could care less I have nothing to hide. I'm sure your in the same position. But people don't look to why it should be approved. It is just bad cause somebody said so.

I never judge people by general catergory. There are good and bad in all of us.
