Because I don't like people forcing their religion on others. And that is what a lot of the Creationists want to do. Back in the early 1980s, the Oklahoma state government was toying with an equal time law between Creationism and evolution in the schools. That is, until someone pointed out that would require some schools to teach evolution. So the idea was dropped.

So why is creationism as an alternative "theory" so threatening to you. If they say something created the evolutionary system why is that a big whoop for you?

What if they claim a young earth, only a few thousand years old, which is not even arguable let alone true. Does that trigger your whoop threshold?
