Not so much in Creation Science, which is willing to push it out to tens of thousands of years.

I recently checked the Catholic position. Turns out that they are OK with either young or old earth just as long as God did the creating as described in the Bible. I think that people can get away with that since it's unfalsifiable. I try to accord latitude for religious views. Young earth, however, is falsifiable, thus beyond the pale.
