given your starting point you could say you came near me. :) i've not been to thetis island, but we used to sail throughout the gulf islands when we lived in vancouver - one of the things i miss about the area. tofino is very nice even if more active than haida gwaii. you would probably enjoy staying at one of the lodges located on langara island whether you are a fisherperson or not. i recall seeing some of those photographs - it has been fun to watch your children grow. i can understand why the coconut would enjoy flying in a mosquito!
