Perhaps you missed this so I will repeat it. If you have no realistic plan to correct the problem you see perhaps you should just stop crying about the problem. In the end it just sounds like the whining of a fool.
I ask you to:

"Take the time to explain your position on gun ownership. Share with us your solution to the problem you see.
Vague nonsense questions like the one you ask tells us nothing of your solution. I want to hear just what you believe can realistically be done to solve the problem you see."

Oh, and comparing a small isolated western town of the 1800s to Chicago in the 21st century is no answer.
When a stranger came into town in the old west where gun carrying was illegal he was confronted immediately if he was carrying a gun. He gave them up and picked them up at the sheriff's office on his way out of town or he killed the sheriff or the sheriff killed him. If he killed the sheriff the deputy deputized the townsmen and they brought out their arms and killed the stranger. Now you know the rest of the story.
Then you made a ridiculous statement. "Now it's in those same areas where the gun crazies are the craziest.."
Are you talking about Chicago? What in the world are you talking about?. You certainly do not mean the small western towns of the US. What are you talking about?
